ATLANTA — April 8, 2014 — Today FEIG Electronics, a leading global supplier of RFID readers and antennas, launched the OBID i-scan® PRH200 Blade Handheld Reader designed for the library market and other on-shelf radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking applications. This ergonomically designed EPC HF RFID reader delivers excellent read reliability with a high-performance antenna and optimum RF-output power.
The lightweight OBID i-scan PRH200 RFID Reader packs an antenna, HF reader and batteries into an extremely thin blade design for easy one-handed operation, offering greater functionality than traditional readers requiring a tethered antenna connection. At 600 grams (1.3 pounds), FEIG’s OBID i-scan Blade Reader weighs less than half the average weight of other handheld readers.
Despite its small size, the OBID i-scan Blade Reader provides outstanding performance with 1.5W standard power and a 4.0W Boost Mode. And with the ability to operate for up to 16 hours on a single battery charge, this innovative RFID reader surpasses all other alternatives for library item tracking.
